Executive chef Josh Watkins is no longer working at Chavez, according to Austin360. He signed on to take over Chavez’s current operations after Parkside Projects and Shawn Cirkiel left the Radisson Hotel restaurant in February. His new replacement hasn’t been named yet.

Watkins had been the executive chef at campus restaurant The Carillon since 2008, but departed in January 2014. His new position at Chavez, which started in Feburary, was to include rebranding the restaurant completely in the spring, like adding a "modern barbecue section" to the Southwestern menu. After Cirkiel and the restaurant group opened Chavez a year ago, they left in February to focus on opening the new tapas-centered Bullfight.
