Italic, Austin’s Newest Italian Spot, To Open Soon

True Italian food is coming to downtown.

Italic, the Italian concept run by ELM Group’s Andrew Curren and Craig Collins, is getting closer to opening sometime this month, as seen through updated plywood photos sent to Eater Austin. The mid-century modern space in the Starr Building was crafted by architects Furman + Keil and designers VeroKolt. The walls will feature artwork by artist John Gall. The wine mezzanine will offer a view of the main space, while the open kitchen will serve up Italian cuisine, including wood-fired pizza, pasta, and burrata.

The restaurant is currently hiring staff and began food training today. Italic’s exact opening date isn’t known yet, but it will happen this month. ELM Group is also working on another new restaurant, Irene’s, set to open sometime in April Update: the opening of the New American restaurant has been pushed back to late summer.
