A new bar has soft opened on East 6th Street across from the new Corazon building. Love Goat owner Israel Espiricueta opened Rhino Room at 1612 E. 6th, a space previously occupied by margarita specialists Bar Matador.

Espiricueta tells Eater Rhino Room will be a quiet, lounge-type bar with a focus on speciality martinis, frozen drinks, and "not crazy, just classic cocktails." The small space has a piano, and a cellist might also make an appearance, but live music won't drown out conversation. "It will be a bar where you can talk to people," Espiricueta says. The bar is still in soft opening phases, but it should open officially right before SXSW, with set hours of 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.
