Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill is looking to bring comfort food to two additional locations. Co-founders Larry Perdido, chef, and Chuck Smith, are eyeing sites out in Round Rock and southwest Austin. No specific spots have been selected yet.
The two decided to branch out because "locals have been asking us to bring a location to their neighborhoods," Perdido told Eater. The two neighborhoods were chosen because both are home to the city’s "fast-growing communities that are eager to add exciting new dining options."
Moonshine opened in 2003, taking over the historic former Waterloo Compound, which served as a trading center in the 1850s. Since its debut, the Bush twins held their graduation party at Moonshine in 2004, with former president George Bush in attendance. Indie rock band Vampire Weekend signed their record deal in the building's wine cellar. Currently, Moonshine is a hot spot for all-you-can-eat brunch and excellent downtown patio space.
