The ever-growing El Chile Group’s fourth location of taquería El Chilito, slated for Burnet Road, is now expected to open next spring. It took over the former Church’s Chicken building in Allandale. There is also a third spot on Manchaca Road announced back in June 2014, which is still being worked on. The menu for the two new restaurants will be the same as the other two locations, focused on tacos, including puffy ones, and all-day breakfast.

Update, December 8: Marketing director Bryan Gonzales told Eater that the Burnet location is opening ahead of Manchaca because the latter needs to be remodeled completely.

The El Chile Group, run by Carlos Rivero, is fond of expansions and concept switcheroos. The group’s coastal Latin restaurant Alcomar, helmed by co-executive chefs Alma Alcocer and Jeff Martinez, is located in the former El Chile spot on South First. The taco stand already has two sites, one on East 7th (which was also previously a Church’s Chicken), and the other on Manor. Also in Cherrywood are the Tex Mex restaurant El Chile and the burger-focused El Sapo. Then, down on Barton Springs is El Alma, which used to be El Chile and El Chilito.

For this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest, El Chilito provided the ammunition for the music festival's taco cannon.
