DOWNTOWN & SOUTH LAMAR — There are three more days left to enjoy David Bull’s Congress, which shuts down on New Year’s Eve. Barley Swine’s South Lamar stint is coming to a close. The last day of service is Saturday, January 2, and then you’ll find the Bryce Gilmore restaurant up on Burnet Road sometime next month. [EATX]

EAST SEVENTH — It’s also the last week for LaV’s three course tasting menu, which was available almost every evening in December. Recent dishes include bay scallops, smoked, oysters, and lamb loin. Everything is $60, with an additional $30 for wine pairings. [EATX]

NEW YEAR’S — If you haven’t already, start making those New Year’s eve plans right now. Look out for dinners from Uchi, Foreign & Domestic, and Dai Due, and mega parties from Justine’s Brasserie, Qui, and Contigo. Keep this New Year’s Day brunch map bookmarked for the next day. [EaterWire]
