Small Victory, the long-awaited bar from cocktail veteran Josh Loving and Brian Stubbs, will make its debut on Monday, January 4. Classic cocktails will feature on the short menu, plus a small but strong list of wine. For bites, there will be charcuterie sliced right in the bar, cheese, and other bits.
Eater photographer Robert J. Lerma toured the windowless 800 square foot space. The narrow room includes bar and banquette seating, along with a large table in the back. The bar took over the shuttered dive Mike’s Pub, off to the side of the parking garage. Hours are from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Saturday.
Downtown is now a certifiable hotspot for well-made drinks. Nearby are The Townsend, The Roosevelt Room, Midnight Cowboy, and Peche. Loving's bar background includes working as the beverage director of Jeffrey’s and Josephine House, and the departed Fino, opening Weather Up, and running Half Step’s ice program.
