Via 313 will start slinging Detroit-style pizza in Blackbird and Henry’s shuttered space on Guadalupe sometime next year, as reported by Austin 360. This will be owners and brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt’s second brick and mortar for the pizzeria, with the first one in Oak Hill. The only difference between the two locations will be the new site's larger kitchen. The menu, featuring signature square and circular bar pies, will remain the same for lunch and dinner, but the decor will be updated to reflect the pizzeria's Motor City sensibilities.
Blackbird and Henry chef and owner Mark Schmidt shuttered the British-inspired campus gastropub quietly last month. He told Eater it was because he couldn’t afford to keep it open anymore. The 3016 Guadalupe location is part of the Guadalupe 31 Lofts.
This takeover will be Via’s second brick and mortar, including the one in Oak Hill, along with two trailers found in Violet Crown and Craft Pride. The Hunts brothers opened the first trailer in 2011 on East 6th.
