The East Side King empire gets bigger today with the opening of Thai Kun’s second truck over on West 6th Street. The truck soft opened yesterday on the patio of newly-opened bar Steampunk Saloon. The menu will be the same as the Whisler’s truck, with beef panang curry, waterfall pork, and fried chicken.
East Side King is going through many recent changes. The ramen-loving spot in Hole in the Wall will close this month. Another new location opened on Dirty Sixth with fried chicken in revamped bar Four Horsemen late this summer. Thai Kun is also in the middle of opening a brick and mortar in the Domain’s ever-growing Rock Rose district this year. Then there are trucks at Liberty Bar and Whisler's, a brick and mortar on South Lamar, and a roaming pop-up truck.
Steampunk Saloon took over the former Opal Divine’s Freehouse location this summer. Joining Thai Kun is Dock & Roll Diner, the lobster food trailer. The truck’s hours will be from 4 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
