— A Green Pastures neighbor is not a fan of the elegant Southern restaurant’s peacocks. The Statesman reported that the unnamed resident filed a complaint about the birds repeatedly returning to his property.

— Austin-based Verts Kebap is eyeing an East Coast expansion next year, after receiving $20 million in backing. Co-founder and CEO Michael Heyne told Restaurant News he wants to bring doner kebaps to New York, D.C., and Boston.

— Dai Due’s Jesse Griffiths calls his staffer Morgan Angelone "The Wolf" because of the Pulp Fiction character. She also holds the mouthful of a title "Director of the New School of Traditional Cookery," where she is in charge of the restaurant's various educational classes. She shared her tips on the importance of organization with Bon Appetit.
