It’s time again to look ahead to the new restaurants coming to Austin, including Korean barbecue, healthy fare, coffee, and more.
Chapli Kebabs shuttered over the summer and will be transformed into Charm Korean BBQ at 1200 West Howard Lane. Presumably serving grilled Korean meats, noodles, and booze. No word on when it will open yet, but the website promises it is "coming soon."
Southpaw, the Dallas healthy-eating cafe mini-chain, is opening a version in Austin called Good Juju Cafe. It is taking over the former Twisted Root Burger Co. spot at 510 West 26th Street, which was another Dallas-based chain which closed last December. (Twisted opened a new location on Burnet.) There will be food, cocktails, beer, and music. The "scratch kitchen" is currently hiring.
A new coffee shop is set for The Domain’s Rock Rose District: Two Hands Coffee. It will serve Nicaraguan coffee, fresh juice, and beer. Through Farmers to 40, the shop helps ensure that money does go back to the Central American coffee farmers it works with. Two Hands is set to open on Wednesday, December 16. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday and Monday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
