Chef and restaurateur Marc Vetri’s first out of state expansion of Pizzeria Vetri is opening on the Drag on Saturday, November 21. It will be part of Urban Outfitter’s "lifestyle concept" Space 24 Twenty. Michael Symon is also opening an adaptation of his B Spot Burgers chain within the complex: Symon’s Burger Joint. The as-of-yet unannounced third restaurant could potentially be run by John Besh and Aaron Sanchez, according to Eater National.
The menu focuses on seasonal Neapolitan-style pies, and special Austin-specific pizzas. Popular pies, like The Rotolo, made with pistachio pesto, mortadella, and ricotta, marshmallow Nutella one, will be served, too. Beer and wine will be available on tap, bottled, and in cans. The restaurant is still hiring servers. The open kitchen space fits 15 guests indoors, with 65 seats out on the patio. Daily hours are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Urban Outfitters took over the block between 24th and 25th streets to create a retail, service, and restaurant complex centered on the clothing company. The Daily Texan reported that the clothing store temporarily closed for renovations and is now soft open. Each restaurant will maintain its own building that opens up into a courtyard, which will include food trucks picked out by Vetri. There are already similar projects in New York and Los Angeles. This is Pizzeria Vetri’s third location, along with two in Philadelphia.
