Weekend Plans: Early Thanksgiving Parties, Barbecue Buffet Film Screenings

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so gear up with this weekend’s holiday-themed parties and charitable events. Don’t forget to place your preorders for turkeys and pies, or plan out your Thanksgiving meal. Add these nine food and drink events to your calendar.

DRIFTWOODAlamo Drafthouse is setting up two film screenings at Salt Lick’s Pecan Grove this weekend, with barbecue buffets. The first is tonight, Friday, November 20, with Blazing Saddles, and the second, tomorrow on Saturday, November 21, is Three Amigos!. Doors open for both at 5:30 p.m, with the films starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $13.65 to $41.08. [EaterWire]

HYDE PARK — Watch the soccer match between Barcelona and Real Madrid up at Bullfight on Saturday, November 21. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., there will be special tapas and drinks until 2 p.m. Reservations are recommended. [EaterWire]

SOUTHEASTIndependence Brewing is throwing a Friendsgiving food drive on Saturday. For every two non-perishable food items donated to the Capital Area Food Bank, people will get a free Hop Brownie sweet. EAST CESAR CHAVEZ — There’s a new brunch in town with Craftsman and trailer Pueblo Viejo’s Sunday menu beginning at 11 a.m. on November 22, along with a special mimosa list, with takes on the cocktail like the Old Fashioned and Mai Tai.
