Swift’s Attic and Counter 3.Five.VII are temporarily closed tonight, November 17, because of a sinkhole in the building next door to the Congress Avenue establishments. KVUE reported that the problem is potentially weakening the building. Currently, there is team in place to figure out the depth of the sinkhole currently. This is also affecting jazz club neighbor The Elephant Room, which reassured customers that it plans on reopening.
Because of the same issue, the two restaurants were briefly shuttered on Friday, but reopened later that night. Swift’s closed Monday evening as well. It plans to reopen on Wednesday, November 18, along with Counter. Update, November 18, 10:22 a.m.: Counter will remain closed until the next-door building is deemed safe. This is expected to happen next week. Update, November 18, 4:32 p.m.: Swift's is still closed as well. Update, November 21, 11:50 a.m.: Counter 3.Five.VII is reopening tonight. Update, November 23, 1:10 p.m.: Swift's Attic is now reopened as well.
