— Hopdoddy Burger Bar is coming to San Antonio. The first location will be under construction from December to March at The Rim Shopping Center, mySA.com reports.
— Cornbread Ventures, a.k.a. the co-founders of Iron Cactus Mexican Grill, have been approved through a court order in U.S. Bankruptcy Court to acquire Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill. The bankruptcy sale includes three locations in Texas which will remain open. The new owners have plans to improve both the menu offerings and the aesthetics of each location.
— Austin Way reports on where the cast of HBO’s The Leftovers enjoyed eating in Austin while filming the second season of the HBO series in the city. Jennifer Aniston’s husband, actor Justin Theroux has a fondness for La Condesa and Uchi, while his co-stars fell for the Belgian Bomber at Jo’s Coffee, mac and cheese at the Omni Hotel, Mi Madre’s crispy beef taco, pizza at The Backspace, and finally coffee from Juan Pelota Cafe.
— Aaron Franklin proclaimed to Texas Monthly that Feast Portland is the only festival invitation he accepts. While there’s still no further information about the forthcoming Austin food festival that Franklin, Feast co-founder Mike Thelin, and Transmission Events’ James Moody are working on, they do divulge that the idea for the festival was "hatched organically over beers."
— East End Wines will close its doors this month, according to a Facebook post. It will offer discounts on wine until everything runs out. The wine shop does not have plans to relocate as of yet.
