The rain is supposed to let up before we close the book on the impending Halloween weekend, so step away from the candy corn and enjoy some real food.

EAST SIDE  — Micklethwait Craft Meats' next Free Beer Saturday, October 31, is with Karbach Brewing Co., starting at 11 a.m. [EaterWire]

POP UP WIRE — Metier is hosting another I Knead That pastry pop-up on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Look for legit Southern-style biscuits, English muffins, croissants, mini-pies, and more. [EaterWire]

ZOMG BBQ — There are still tickets available for the Texas Monthly Barbecue Festival, where Austinites get the chance to stand in line for barbecue that isn’t Franklin, though he'll be there too. It takes place on Sunday, November 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Long Center. [EaterWire]

GOVALLETexas French Bread is hosting a harvest dinner with executive chef Ben Schwartz at Boggy Creek Farm on Sunday, too. The four course dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., and reservations are $60 and an additional $40 for wine pairings. [EaterWire]
