The Peached Tortilla, the Southern-Asian restaurant and food truck business, is expanding with its first venue space Peached Social House on North Lamar. Set to open in the summer of 2016, the venue will host weddings, parties, meetings, community events, pop-up dinners, classes, and more.

The new space will be designed by Austin architect Kevin Stewart, who also worked on the brick and mortar. It will include a prep kitchen, conference area, and will have audio-visual capabilities within the 4,000 square foot site. It will be found on 6500 North Lamar, near Threadgill's, Stiles Switch, and Michi Ramen.

Lawyer-turned-chef and owner Eric Silverstein opened the food truck in 2010, which became so popular that he opened a second one a year later. This was then followed by the physical restaurant on Burnet Road in December 2014, which he previewed with pop-up dinners.

Other Austin restaurants have opened additional event spaces, too. Bryce Gilmore's Barley Swine is turning its original location on South Lamar into a temporary events space when it moves to Burnet Road later this year. LaV unveiled the outdoor garden space for events this spring. Justine’s Brasserie opened the Secret House for epic parties last spring.
