LaV’s Vilma Mazaite is leaving her position as wine director to become an executive consultant for the Provencal restaurant instead, as reported by Austin 360. In her new role, she will work on creating a wine and food festival centered on Burgundy wine and French cuisine. Called Celebrate Burgundy, it will take place in LaV’s new garden event space sometime in early 2017.

Mazaite, also an advanced sommelier, was one of the founding managing partners of LaV, which opened in March 2014. As wine director, she curated the restaurant's wine list, which is over 1,500 different offerings. She also hosted and arranged wine dinners. She previously worked for Wynn Resort and Corsa Cucina in Las Vegas, Babbo in New York, and Little Nell in Aspen.

Earlier this year, founding executive chef Allison Jenkins left the restaurant. Taking her place in the interim was Sean O’Leary, husband of the restaurant’s executive pastry chef Janina.
