He’s down to one pit.

There is now video footage of John Mueller’s barbecue pit thief, thanks to St. Roch’s security camera footage released on KVUE. He discovered the pit was missing this week. The video depicts a white Ford pick-up truck towing the pit away this week. The pit was a gift from a friend in Amarillo that cost between $15,000-$35,000. Mueller suspects it’s someone who knew his schedule and when he’d be away from the trailer.

John Mueller Meat Company is still open and serving barbecue, but not much as he did when he was fully operational. A second pit will be added next week. In the meantime, anyone with information should reach out to Mueller.

Last summer, Mueller caught the person who stole items from the trailer through text messages.

Update, October 5: Someone loaned Mueller a second pit for the trailer in the wake of the theft. Two different Go Fund Me campaigns popped up to help raise money for a new pit.
