SAN MARCOS — Thundercloud Subs, the Austin-based sandwich shop open since 1975, will open a new location in San Marcos. Many will remember that there was a location near Texas State’s campus from 1991 to 1996, but alas, it could not survive the student-less summers. The new spot will be just off Highway 123 and has a convenient drive-thru. It will open to the public on Wednesday, October 21. [EaterWire]
CHARITY WIRE — To support Breast Cancer Month, all Kerbey Lane locations will sell pink pancakes and "Cakes for a Cure" t-shirts. All of the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. The stacks will be available through Saturday, October 31. [EaterWire]
CLARKSVILLE — There’s a new store dedicated to cookware and other kitchen goods with the opening of Kettle & Brine last week on 908 West 12th Street. The modern, thoughtfully-curated showroom displays products international brands and smaller makers. [EaterWire]
