Festival SeasonAustin City Limits is back for two weekends: Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4, and Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11. There’s food on the grounds, but if you want to escape for a bit, here are your best bets for eating and drinking nearby. [EATX]

Cooking Classes — Learn how to improve your cooking and baking with the help of Kitchen Underground’s Elizabeth Winslow during her three classes at Metier from 6 to 8 p.m. First, there’s pasta on Wednesday, October 7; apple cooking and baking on Wednesday, October 14; and fall pies on Saturday, October 24. Chef AuctionGet ready to bid on Aaron Franklin, Sonya Cote, Tyson Cole, and other Austin chefs with the fourth annual chef auction held by Edible Austin on Thursday, October 8 at the Allan House. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., with the auction at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will go towards both the Sustainable Food Center and Urban Roots. [Edible Austin]

Beer Here BirthdaysHops & Grain is celebrating both its fourth anniversary and the final section of Bike Affair Fiesta on Saturday, October 10. From 12 to 8 p.m., there’s raffles, beer, music, and food from newcomer Kick Drum Burgers. Elsewhere, Independence Brewing turns 11 with a birthday party on Saturday, October 17 with a limited beers. Meals on Wheels — Truck by Truckwest is now Trucklandia, but the same concept still holds: participants try out a lot of food trucks for $50, and vote on their favorites. The winning truck gets $10,000. This year, it begins on Tuesday, October 13 and ends on Sunday, October 18. [EaterWire]

Food Festival TimeLa Dolce Vita Food & Wine Festival comes back on Thursday, October 15 at Laguna Gloria from 7 to 10 p.m. The $200 tickets includes bites from a deluge of Austin restaurants, like Counter 3. Five. VII, Ramen Tatsu-Ya, and forthcoming Wu Chow. [EaterWire]
