The story behind a mysterious new restaurant in the Corazon apartment project has finally been revealed. Fukumoto will be an izakaya and sushi restaurant run by former Musashino chef Kazu Fukumoto on East 6th. There's no set opening date, though other Corazon tenants like Gelateria Gemelli and Spartan Pizza are slated to open in the first half of 2015.

Diners can preview the restaurant at Qui throughout January and February. Using their new ticketed dining system, Qui will host a series Fukumoto pop-ups. First up are yakitori dinners January 13, 20, and 27, as well as February 3. The sushi side of the restaurant will be on display February 1, 15, and 22, as well as March 1. Tickets for the yakitori menu are $85, and the sushi tasting is $150.

Update! Fukumoto previously was called Hikyo on permits, and the team clarifies that's the name of the LLC, not the restaurant.
