Goldis Sausage Company, the South Austin trailer that created the ridiculous ice cream meat sandwich, is closed for the rest of the winter. Owner Keenan Goldis is taking a cold-weather-months hibernation so he can learn how to make and sell his sausage creations wholesale to stores. The last day for the trailer was yesterday at its location on South First. Goldis is still accepting giant catering orders, and there are future plans to sell sausages at farmer’s markets.

From Goldis Sausage Company’s Facebook post:

I have decided to close down the food trailer for the rest of Winter so I can spend some time learning the ropes of manufacturing so I can one day start wholesaling my sausages to grocery stores. In the near future we are planning on starting to sell our sausages at farmers markets and we are also still accepting large catering orders.
