A man and woman who allegedly stole a charter bus rammed through a Taco Bell drive-thru in East Austin yesterday, according to the Statesman. The duo attempted to go through the fast food restaurant's drive-thru on Martin Luther King and Airport Boulevards, damaging the awning in the process, as reported by KEYE. Then,

Police received a call of the bus leaving the scene of the crash at 3:57 p.m., Austin police Sgt. Anthony Hipolito said.

Police spotted the bus on Martin Lurther King Jr. Boulevard and began a "slow-speed pursuit" on Ed Bluestein Boulevard. The bus stopped on Thurgood Drive, but the man and woman inside did not obey commands to exit the vehicle, Hipolito said.

After the two and a half hour SWAT team standoff, the two eventually surrendered. They haven't been charged yet. The Taco Bell is open, but the drive-thru is closed until officials make sure that the canopy won’t collapse.
