Down Home Diner is a new trailer that popped up in Hyde Park this month, featuring what they describe as "down home" food. The menu includes burgers and hot dogs named after Texas cities and Austin neighborhoods, like the Amarillo, with green chilies, pepper jack cheese, salsa verde, and barbecue sauce; and the Blanco dog, with peach salsa and crystal mayonnaise. The Rockport burger is even made with a gulf shrimp patty. There are also fries (including dirty fries) and breakfast tacos, along with vegetarian and vegan-friendly fare.

Located on 500 E. 51 St., the trailer is open from 11:30am-8pm on Wednesdays through Sundays. For those not up for waiting outside in the cold, there’s also the option to order online for pick-up.
