Vox Table, one of the new restaurants set for Lamar Union, will open in late February, according to the job listing posted on Indeed. Run by chef Joe Anguiano, from Eleven Plates and Wine, and owner Vincent Manguino, the restaurant will focus on American fare with Spanish and French touches. Currently, they’re hiring line, prep, and pastry cooks; bakers; and dishwashers. In the listing, Vox described their concept as:
VOX in Latin means "Voice" therefore, we are looking to create a memorable dining experience for the guest by introducing fun shared plates that pulls ingredients not only from different cultures like Spain, the Mediterranean, Asia, and the Americas but also local farmers to produce familiar and unique tastes to excite the guest and get them to "Voice" their bliss with other patrons over the "Table." The concept is "Shared Plates." We want the guest to have the opportunity to share, try, experience, and taste multiple dishes on the menu with their dining companions. Our food will be playful, sexy, creative, and fun with elevated twists on familiar dishes and flavors.
Vox is one of the eight new places slated for the South Austin complex, along with the highly anticipated Shake Shack, the casual Cantine, and a yet-to-be-named concept by chef David Garrido. The Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar and the Highball opened last summer.
