Some of Austin's biggest openings are simple expansions, from Noble Sandwich Co. central to Ramen Tatsu-Ya South Lamar. On the horizon are the massive new Easy Tiger gluten palace in the Linc and Second Bar + Kitchen at the The Domain. Plus, almost every major restaurant group in Austin is on an empire-building tear, taking advantage of a growing city packed with hungry and adventurous diners.
Over on Eater's snazzy forums, readers suggested where these restaurants and groups should head next. Here's a few highlights from there and the Facebook discussion.
- South Austin wants Chinese barbecue, bad. Perhaps Din Ho Southpark Meadows?
- "A P. Terry's in Buda would be my greatest wish."
- Jack Allen's is wanted in Northwest Hills
- Slaughter/Manchaca will take an East Side King, a Hopdoddy a Home Slice and many more
- Mighty Bird should also consider a South Austin expansion
- P. Terry's Mueller seems like a no-brainer
- Bouldin Creek, a Cherrywood resident has a business proposition for you: "a Bouldin Creek Cafe outpost in the old Vivo spot on Manor. It could be called Bouldin Manor (see the double entendre there?). We need some delicious veggie grub and Bouldin sensuality in Cherrywood!"
- An ELM concept in Oak Hill or Sunset Valley would make Via 313 and St. Philip fans happy
- Parmer/McNeil needs tacos and juice
- Meanwhile, north-central Austin has it made: "Bryce Gilmore incarnation! Oh wait. Cirkiel-style tapas! Oh wait. Great pizza! Oh, wait, I think that's on it's way, too!"
- And hey, Thai Kun! Could you add some lunch hours?
