The long wait for Dai Due's new restaurant is finally over. The Manor Road butcher shop opened a week ago, and the restaurant has been accepting reservations from newsletter subscribers, composed of their longtime farmers' market and supper club patrons. Today marks the first day the restaurant is officially open to the public. Hours Tuesday-Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the butcher shop, and 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. for dinner service. Reservations are encouraged; they also take walk-ins.
The restaurant is intensely focused on local sourcing, including ingredients like flours and oils, as well as their wine. They have yet to post an official menu online, but the latest newsletter dispatch offers some insight into what's on the table. Every Thursday will be "chicken night," and Fridays will be "a seafood feast." Distinctive Texas-sourced options include a salad of "summer greens like purslane, lamb's quarters, wood sorrel, amaranth and baby kale, dressed with wild grape vinegar," ample venison options, and mesquite bean ice cream.
