Austin has combination restaurant/butcher shops, restaurant/fish mongers, and brewpubs; the hill country boasts plenty of restaurant/wineries. Now Apis, a combination restaurant and apiary is gearing up to open in Spicewood. Behind the project is chef and beekeeper Taylor Hall, who is the head chef of Supper Underground.
The restaurant hopes to eventually serve its own house honey from their 20 hives, which are situated far from the restaurant and "should not disturb guests who might be concerned about being harassed or stung." Apis is currently hiring a FOH manager with "ample fine dining experience." They're shooting for an October opening.
