Sad news: Original Tamale House founder and beloved Austinite Moses Vasquez died Tuesday night at the age of 90. It's been a rough year for the Austin institution; recall that Moses' son Robert "Bobby" Vasquez passed away back in April, with his Tamale House #3 shuttering for good shortly thereafter.
The Vasquez family has operated Tex Mex restaurants in Austin for over 50 years; the remaining Tamale House East is operated by Vasquez's grandchildren. Austin 360 has info on services for Vasquez, which will be held this Friday and Saturday.
