Swoony East Austin restaurant Justine's spices up the dreaded confusing restaurant website with arty naked ladies, and apparently, this causes some confusion. The above email arrived in their inbox with the title "Restaurant or Porn Makers?" and the writer concludes, "Quite honestly, I am afraid to bring my family to your restaurant."
Justine's notes in the posting that they get emails like these "about once a month." The restaurant is fond in general of highlighting negative or clueless reactions from diners: said sexy & confusing website rounds up bad reviews under "Amazing."
Update! Justine's posts a lengthy, thoughtful letter written in response to another "Is This Porn?" email. An excerpt:
We think our website does a GREAT job of letting you know what you're in for. We are not for every one. And we think the families who come to eat at Justine's are very happy to be there, having chosen to come there, and believing like us that beauty and sensuality are not "anti-family". . . The glorious part for us about running a business in America is that you don't need to come to Justine's, and you don't need to spend any more time looking at our website if it offends you---and we don't have to apologize.
