First fire in the new smokehouse. Re-opening July 8! pic.twitter.com/KQrrKG7emz
— Franklin Barbecue (@FranklinBbq) July 2, 2014
Franklin Barbecue is currently closed for an unprecedented two weeks in order to finish work on their new smokehouse. The cultishly loved barbecue destination tweeted out a picture of the first fire in the new space, which will replace Franklin's open-air cooking area.
In addition to no longer getting rained on, the smokehouse will make it easier for Aaron Franklin and his team to turn out consistent smokey meats. The restaurant will reopen Tuesday, July 8. There will probably be a line.
