New Urban Cidery Gearing Up to Open on Springdale

Local cider producers Austin Eastciders have found great success with their Gold Top and Original cider, and now they're finally getting ready to take up residence in their East Austin home. Construction is underway at 979 Springdale, a site which already features a rebuilt vintage railroad station from the previous owner. Flat Creek Estate winery provided a temporary home for the cidery, which had originally hoped to open last summer.

When completed, their urban cidery will include a performance space and a bar, since unlike breweries, Texas "wineries" are authorized to sell on site (another instance of booze laws making perfect sense). Eastciders tells Eater they're shooting for a September 1st opening, with a grand opening party slated for later in the month. Take a look at more of their plywood updates below.
