Colorado-based sandwich chain Snarf's Sandwiches will open their first Texas restaurant near campus this month. The restaurant is slated to open the week of June 23, and will feature a "custom mosaic" capturing Austin's "wonderfully artistic personality."

Snarf's Sandwiches Opens First Texas Location in AustinJune 10, 2014 (Austin) – Snarf's Sandwiches, known for its award-winning, oven-toasted subs, will open its first Texas restaurant in Central Austin. The Austin restaurant is located near the University of Texas and St. David's Medical Center off Dean Keeton at 2901 Medical Arts Street. The new location is slated to open the week of June 23rd.
Snarf's is a destination for those looking for a fun atmosphere, friendly people and an obsession with finding, and devouring, the perfect sandwich. Each oven-toasted sub is made with exceptional ingredients, including generous portions of premium, hand-sliced meats and cheeses, Snarf's own blend of giardiniera peppers, and fresh, perfectly-crusty bread. Snarf's also offers gluten-free bread, fresh salads with homemade dressings, a rotating variety of soups, kid-sized subs, vegetarian options and a full catering menu.
"Austin reminds me of the unique community vibe we experienced in Boulder when we opened our first shop in 1996," said "Snarf" Jimmy Seidel. "We're excited to introduce new 'Snarfers' in the Austin area to our craveable food, colorful personality and atmosphere." In partnership with Snarf's founder Jimmy Seidel, Snarf's local ownership includes long-time Austin residents Elizabeth and Don Baker, and Dallas residents Lisa and Tim Kriegshauser, whose children are University of Texas alumni.
Each Snarf's location boasts distinctive and art-filled interiors aimed to reflect the local community versus following a cookie-cutter store design. "Austin has a wonderfully artistic personality, and we've taken great care in selecting our unique décor including a custom mosaic highlighting Austin's city scape," Seidel said.
Snarf's Austin will be open Sunday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will offer catering, delivery and online ordering. For more information, visit www.eatsnarfs.com/locations/austin or call 512-687-2600.
