Because it's literally impossible for Austin to have too many tacos, Fork & Taco is slated to hit Burnet Road — next door to the recently opened Noble Sandwich Co. — in August.
Per a press release issued earlier today, the new concept will feature "inventive yet familiar taco fare ... at a friendly price point" and is brought to you by chief executive managing partner Jeff McCoy and chef/managing partner Casey Fannin, whose resume boasts five years at Uchi.
Fork & Taco will showcase handmade tortillas and "all-natural meats"; as far as menu specifics go, expect taco options like adobo-braised short rib with guacamole, queso fresco and cilantro, five-spice pulled pork with Asian slaw and soy-maple crema, and Thai grouper with cucumber-watermelon salsa and green curry crema, plus Mexican-style street corn aka elotes, soft-serve ice cream, housemade sangria and a selection of beer and wine. No details on the space just yet, but it'll be the handiwork of architect Michael Hsu (who also worked on Sway, Uchi, Uchiko, La Condesa and Olivia, to name a few) and Merrilee McGehee Designs.
