Longtime South Austin restaurant The Bakehouse will shutter on Manchaca Road, and Strange Brew coffee will expand into the space with a new cafe and restaurant. The Statesman reports with more details on the forthcoming 24 hour establishment:
The café will feature a "locovorian menu with beef, chicken, pork and seafood selections, as well as a wood-fired pizza oven and 24-hour breakfast service with a low, neighborhood pricing format in keeping with the tradition of the Bakehouse," according to Widner. The café, which should be open later this year or early next year and will feature a full bar, will also run a catering operation. The Bakehouse will remain open until June 15, and they'll be open normal hours that Sunday.
