Garrido's Sold; Will Become French-Inspired Prelog's

New, 1 comment

Downtown Mexican restaurant Garrido's has been sold to a pair of Austrian restaurateur brothers Austrian chef Florian Prelog, who intends to serve French-inspired cuisine in the space. The Chronicle has the full report on the deal:

The new owners are the Prelog brothers from Austria, one of whom is a rising star in the European restaurant scene, chef Florian Prelog, most recently of the Cafe Sacher in Innsbruck. Their Austin restaurant will be called Prelog's (360 Nueces) and will feature French-inspired cuisine, according to Garrido.
Garrido announced via Facebook that he will now be focused on his new concept at Lamar Union. Garrido told Eater earlier this year the restaurant will be inspired by "old-school Jeffrey's" where Garrido was the executive chef.

Update! Florian Prelog tells Eater he is involved in the project solo, not with his brother as previously reported.
