Bar 2211 Opens Officially on April 12; Epicerie's Wine and Cheese Class; Friends & Neighbors First Look

EAST SIDEBar 2211 is opening officially this Saturday, April 12, and CultureMap chats with owners Jeremy Murray and Jason Steward about the neighborhood vibe they'd like to bring from the bar. A sister bar to The Blackheart, Bar 2211 shares a whiskey and beer focus, but without the "chaos" of Rainey. Murray tells CultureMap, "We're not serving craft cocktails. We [already] live in that world." They'll be celebrating their grand opening with a pig roast from Salt & Time. [CultureMap]

ROSEDALE — Cafe and grocery Epicerie is hosting a wine and cheese class this Sunday, April 13. Cheesemonger Kelly Sheehan and Shadd Scott of Pioneer Wines will teach the class, which features 5 rounds for $30. Get tickets here. [Eaterwire]

EAST CESAR CHAVEZ — Boutique and cafe Friends and Neighbors is now fully open, and they're serving wine, snacks, and Stumptown coffee. The Chronicle has a first look at the space. [Chronicle]
