Derek Kipe, better known as the "Franklin Chair Guy," visited La Barbecue for lunch today. Kipe rents out chairs to those waiting in line at Franklin Barbecue for $5, and has become a staple of the barbecue establishment's epic line. La Barbecue tweeted out the picture above of him getting his meat fix from their trailer today, and he responded: "The Q was great. You all rock!!!"
Quick, start speculating on what this means for the future of Austin barbecue. Does the chair guy's attention confer greatness? Will his chair apprentice leave to start selling chairs at La Barbecue? Does anyone ever bring the chair guy Franklin brisket, or does he always have to go elsewhere to get his fix?
