Good news, Austin dive bar enthusiasts: Deep Eddy Cabaret's new owners intend to maintain the bar's "Old Austin" feel. According to the Austin Business Journal, the bar has been purchased by father and son Robert and Will Bridges, after it was put up for sale by original owners Butch and Patti Hickman.
The Bridges' biggest planned change is to potentially add a beer garden or otherwise rehab the other buildings on the property. Butch Hickman sold the bar in order to retire, and tells the ABJ that he feels, "Will and Robert Bridges want to continue the character and family atmosphere" of Deep Eddy.
