Ramen Tatsu-Ya is at the forefront of Austin's ramen craze, propelled there by their fanatical attention to detail and warm, welcoming atmosphere. An impressive variety of Austinites, from gaggles of UT students to toddler-wrangling parents, flock to their humble strip mall location for delicious and affordable ramen.

After over a year of long lines and national acclaim, the restaurant has announced a forthcoming a South Lamar location. Eater photographer Patrick Michels visits Ramen Tatsu-Ya at a very particular moment: Saturday at 8 p.m.
