Crawfish Boils Galore, Sunday Funday, More

Looking for something to do this weekend besides the Food & Wine Festival? Here are five picks for fun events around town.

Where: Epicerie 2307 Hancock Dr.
When: Sunday 5 -8 p.m.
What: Epicerie has partnered with Adelbert's brewery to pair mudbugs with craft beer. $35 get a plate and a beer, or drop $25 for just a plate. Tickets are on sale.

Where: 2310 Manor Rd.
When: Saturday 2 p.m. until the crawfish run out
What: Haymaker is following in big-sister bar Black Sheep Lodge's footsteps and hosting their first-annual crawfish boil. There will be crawfish, and drink specials. Get there early.

Where: 515 Pedernales
When: Sunday 5ish (the bar opens at 4 p.m.)
What: This is a free, that's right free, crawfish boil for St. Roch's customers. Obviously, you need to buy booze, and tip the cook generously.

Where: 207 San Jacinto
When: Sunday, 4 p.m.
What: Max's hosts a themed wine tasting every last Sunday of the month. This month's theme is "All in the (Pinot) Family and tickets are $25.

eastciders.jpg5) Austin Eastciders Launch
Where: Bars Around town, especially Cheer Up Charlie's
When: This weekend onward
What: Local cidery Austin Eastciders has launched their first canned cider, and it is starting to show up in bars around town. Cheer Up's was the first to launch, and it's confirmed at the Mohawk as well. Whole Foods Lamar has some for sale, if you need to drink your cider at home and not in a fun public place.
