Construction is well underway on Franklin Barbecue's new smokehouse, according to the helpful photos of the restaurant from the Franklin Barbecue Line Twitter account. Looks like the fence first went up on April 10, and the crew broke ground yesterday, April 22. And oh, hey, the line's pretty short today too.
Right now, Franklin Barbecue does all their cooking outside. Aaron Franklin previously told Eater a smokehouse will allow the barbecue mecca to more easily smoke a perfect brisket day after day. Also, Franklin and the crew will no longer have to brave the elements in order to create their cult-inspiring smokey meats.
