After a long wait, central Austin is finally getting an outpost of Noble Sandwich Co. Statesman critic Matthew Odam tweets that the Burnet Road outpost opened today. Noble Sandwiches confirms, tweeting from their account that they "opened quietly" with their "traditional hours," and are now officially open.
The popular sandwich shop first announced their expansion plans in May of last year, and had originally aimed for a fall 2013 opening. When Eater last spoke with co-owner John Bates, he said that the biggest change would be rolling out a serious breakfast program, including several types of waffles and rotating selections of grits.
The original Northwest Austin location earned national praise for their inventive sandwiches; both locations are open for breakfast and lunch only. Check out a first look at their signage below.
Update! The Statesman has more details on the new location and menu offerings.
