Jesse Herman's restaurant group Violet Crown Management has launched a new event space, called Fair Market, just in time for SXSW. Located at 1100 E. 5th Street, the space's SXSW lineup includes a showcase headlined by 50 Cent. The website describes the project as:
a unique community space for special events, gatherings, and weekend markets. . . The facilities combine a large, flexible interior space with an expansive outdoor environment complete with a menu of full service catering resources to help support any type of creative event.An indoor farmer's market is slated for the space, The Statesman reported earlier this year. Developers Richard Kooris and Dennis McDaniel are also involved in the project.
Update! A rep for Fair Market has the following clarification with regards to ownership:
Through a joint partnership, Jesse Herman and Delfo Trombetta of Violet Crown Management (Sway / La Condesa), along with James Moody and Graham Williams of Transmission Events (Fun Fun Fun Fest, The Mohawk) came together with extensive backgrounds in food, business, and entertainment industries to provide East Austin with a multifunctioning space providing the maximum flexibility for a variety of recurring events.
