The former Flat Top Burger Shop has been reborn as a burger-focused cantina. Called El Sapo, this swicheroo from the El Chile restaurant group features a menu of "cantina burgers" with lots of Tex Mex additions like refried beans, rajas, and guacamole. They also will serve hot dogs and fries with a similar Tex Mex twist. Their drinks list is focused on Texas-made spirits, wine, and beers. Here's the full menu.
The cantina will open tomorrow, March 12, for the first day of their SXSW day parties. Flat Top shuttered in September, and El Chile group owner Carlos Rivero told Eater that El Sapo is designed to be "a cantina for El Chile." El Chile reopened reopened in its original Manor Road location in October.
