Patio Wire

Austin's City Council passed a measure yesterday that will permit the Radisson Hotel on Cesar Chavez to expand the outdoor deck surrounding Shawn Cirkiel's latest restaurant project. The forthcoming construction will expand the restaurant patio from 1125 square feet to 2720, allowing more lake and bat-watching views for Chavez diners. Michael Kanin of the Austin Monitor reports that the measure passed 6-0, and that the hotel has agreed to do some revenue sharing with the city in exchange for the use of the parkland.
