Tickets are now on sale for Vaca Y Vino, an annual party thrown at The Bridges Ranch in Wimberley. The "Argentine-inspired celebration of beef, wine, music, and the outdoors" boasts Lou Lambert, Emmett Fox, and Larry McGuire as lead chefs. The event takes place on April 6, with ticket prices set at $125 with roundtrip shuttle service and $100 general admission. All profits from the event will be donated to the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance.
The event's format was inspired by chef Francis Mallman, and is an homage to his "Una Vaca Entera" recipe from the book Seven Fires. The three chefs will roast an entire 1,200 pound steer for guest consumption as the main event, with craft beer, South American wine, and local music from The Moonhangers on hand as well. The Austin Chronicle's Mick Vann attended the 2013 event, and seemed to really enjoy it, stating that "The event should definitely be included in every beef-lover's entertainment calendar." More details will be forthcoming as the event date nears.
