Food, Farm, And Festival Wire

edeneast15011.jpgSonya Coté's popular restaurant-on-a-farm Eden East is getting festive in the coming weeks. Tomorrow and Saturday, the Eden East menu celebrates Mardi Gras with a five-course offering priced at $70 full of Louisiana flavors. Dishes include oysters Laveau, redfish "Rex" with tomato grits, she-crab, crawfish tail, and spinach, and baby (King?) cakes with Luxardo and mint sugar. Interested diners can check for reservations at the Eden East site. Since having just one festival wouldn't be very Austin, Coté has also extended service hours and crafted a special SXSW menu which will run on 3/6 and on 3/12-13. The four-course, $50 menu will include free Deep Eddy cocktails, complimentary corkage, and much-needed refuge from downtown madness.
