East Side King has announced that they are opening a new concept, Thai-Kun, at forthcoming bar Wonderland. Described as a collaboration between "chefs Paul Qui, Thai Changthong (formerly of Spin Modern Thai Cuisine) and Motoyasu Utsunomiya," the truck will feature Thai-inspired dishes like Thai-Kun fried chicken and panang beef curry. Their truck that was previously parked at the Grackle will serve as Thai-Kun's location.
Wonderland is a new bar from Scott Walker and Jason Stevens of Bar Congress and La Corsha Hospitality Group. The bar is taking over the old Cheer Up Charlie's space on East 6th; Cheer Up's has moved into the former Club de Ville space on Red River. Wonderland's full bar menu, including draft cocktails, is also now available online. Opening night for both Wonderland and Thai-Kun is slated for March 1, 2014.
